Psalm 3 – 4

For the probable circumstances of both psalms, see 2 Sam. 15-17.

  1. Psalm 3 is a morning Psalm. As David wakes, what adverse conditions confront him (verses 1, 2)?
Cf. 2 Sam. 16:5-8. How does David react (verses 3, 4)?
What are the consequences of his trust in the Lord (verse 5-8)?
What can we learn from his example?
  2. Psalm 4 is an evening psalm. In verses 2-5, David addresses his adversaries.
What counsel does he given them?
In what does he find his own strength, joy and security?
